One of our greatest privileges at Night Dispatch has been getting to share our knowledge and experience with high school students through our internship program, preparing them to start their path after graduation. While it is nice to have extra sets of hands around the office, we take most pride in what we are able to give to these students. Teaching skills that the interns will utilize in the future that will set them up for success is what our internship program is all about. Our goal is that by allowing them to have real-world, hands-on experience in our office, they will be better equipped to handle their first job in the professional world.

How did you begin working with Night Dispatch?
I began working with Night Dispatch after a friend of my grandma’s said they were hiring. I decided I wanted a summer job and came in for training.
Why did you feel Night Dispatch was a good fit for you
I felt like Night Dispatch would be a great experience and opportunity for someone my age.
What were some of your job duties?
Auditing our contractors and billing.
What was your favorite part of working with Night Dispatch?
The opportunity of learning something new.
What did you learn during your time working with Night Dispatch?
How to work in a professional environment.
What are your goals for the future? How did working with Night Dispatch impact these goals?
My goals for the future are to graduate high school and go into college. Night Dispatch will impact these goals by showing me what hard work is and to get things done.

Experience and Current Training
Before coming to work at Night Dispatch I had very little training. The only job experience I had before was babysitting.
How did you begin working with Night Dispatch?
I began working with Night Dispatch based on an internship program ( that my school offered that I took advantage of.
Why did you feel Night Dispatch was a good fit for you?
I feel Night Dispatch was a good fit for me because of the trucking background I already have because of all the conversations I’ve had with my grandfather (he was a trucker when he was younger).
What were some of your job duties?
We audited the contractors to make sure that they are following the SOP and we billed – as in we have called (usually dispatchers) for the paperwork needed to prove that delivery has been done.
What was your favorite part of working with Night Dispatch?
My favorite part of working at Night Dispatch has been the environment the job has due to the workers. At my first true job I was welcomed into an environment that’s just about getting the job done, it’s about making lasting memories with my coworkers.
What did you learn during your time working with Night Dispatch?
I’ve learned that I need to honor my commitments more, because out in the grown-up world, that can cost me my job or even my property.
What are your goals for the future? How did working with Night Dispatch impact these goals?
My goals for the future include going to Purdue University and double majoring in Aeronautical Engineering Technologies and either Chemical Engineering or Biochemistry. From there, I want to work for a space agency, but I have that extra cushion of biochemistry or chemical engineering in case I can’t find a job at a space agency.

My goal for the future is to be a pediatric physical therapist. Night dispatch impacted these goals because it showed me what working in an office will be like in the future.
